Arguing is one of the things that is considered in the Western World as a key to gaining knowledge. The opinion of the teacher, the scientist and the Doctor or the Engineer can be refuted or questioned anytime during a presentation or discussion.
Ancient Greeks considered arguing as one of the major scientific methods enabling them to find new knowledge. However, on the negative side arguing can became a purpose of its own for some people.

In the Middle East arguing and disagreement for an authorized person , educated or professional can be considered as an insult sometimes and can lead to personal problems. However, personally I think that Islam encourages discussion for a good purpose not just for the sake of argument and proving superiority over others.
For example, Islam encourages group's consultation or "Shora" where authority takes advice from other individuals who are more knowledgeable in some fields or sciences. On the other hand, Islam strongly discourages considering argument for a soul purpose. I personally think that the balance is very important and Islam has provided a very wise guidance for people to argue and discuss beneficial issues without making it personal.
Thank you very much for your time.
Have a wise argument time

Hi Ibrahem
first of all, I would like to thank you for this nice website.
As you said, arguing with some one who is from Middle East is considered as an insult for that person, whereas in western countries, arguing is considered as giving new idea or different way of thinking to see the theme from all directions. This is one of the great things that I have learnt from Australians.

Feeling shy when someone correct us, while ,in Western countries as I have noticed, people mostly is trying to start a question and then each one have to say and convice with respect to others. As a result of their answering the question they got a new knowledge.
Finally, I have been finding your website helpful when needing to read something interesting. So, keep going.
