Key Points in a Successful Research

Today the Saudi Club in the Gold Coast hosted Michel Harvey in Griffith University. He provided a talk about personal research.

From the lecture I summarized key points that I thought are very important for a successful researcher:

* Developing multitasking ability. (starting late is better than not starting at all).
* Swimming against the stream (write about something that no one expects or thought about).
* Create an outline for your research putting in mind that you will change it in the future.
* Developing an annual plan for your research outcome and future directions.
* Reading the literature and finding where your research will stand within the sea of knowledge.
* Creating your own network of researchers that you would be able to share knowledge with.
* Using innovative inner-disciplinary methods to link outbound your within the box of one specialization.
* Creating a unique processes(routine) that suits your mood in doing research.
* Drawing ideas and leaving giving time for imagination.
